Conor's Brain Surgery

Donation protected
On Sunday, January 26, Conor Coutts was rushed to the hospital after experiencing aphasia during a debate tournament in Washington State.  After a CT scan determined Conor had a large abscess in his brain, he was airlifted to a hospital in Seattle where he underwent brain surgery.  He was placed in the ICU for recovery, and as of Wednesday, January 30, he was moved to the acute floor.  On Thursday, January 31, Conor will undergo a transesophageal echocardiogram to ensure his heart was not affected by the brain abscess.

Conor is a senior at Carroll College in Montana.  He is a student of Political Science, and he is determining if his vocation is to become a lawyer or join the priesthood.  He is a member of the Talking Saints, the school’s renowned speech and debate team.  In his free time, Conor enjoys petting cats, listening to opera music, dancing to Dua Lipa, and attending Mass.  He can often be found praying at the Cathedral of Saint Helena, enjoying a meal at the Brewhouse, working at the Capitol, counting ballots after elections, befriending the elderly, and visiting local priests.  Conor is a very humble and generous man of God, and he has helped countless people through his service.

Conor is not a person who would ask for your help.  He is one of the most independent people we have ever met, and he does not want to appear desperate.  We begged Conor to allow us to start a fundraiser for him, which he eventually agreed to.  First, we ask everyone who is reading this to say a prayer for our friend—healing is what he needs most!  Second, if you are able, we would like to humbly ask you to assist Conor financially.  We do not know the estimated time of recovery, what recovery and rehabilitation will look like, or the estimated out-of-pocket costs after insurance.  We proposed a fund of $10,000, but the costs could easily surpass that.  We understand that many of you reading this are fellow classmates, and we would like to encourage you to give what you can.  Please share this with your fellow classmates, professors, administrators, church leaders, and friends! Feel free to reach out to any of us if you have questions.  Thank you.

Sincerely,
