Connors Medical Move

My name is Kelly, I am 28 years old. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Samuel, for almost 8 years. We have 2 boys, Connor 7 & Seth 4. We currently live in Perth, Western Australia.

I am appealing for help as my husband & eldest son both have a rare condition called Alagille Syndrome. This condition effects the liver, kidneys & heart among other things.

Connor has been getting seen by doctors his whole life but as he is getting older more needs to be done. We have been travelling back & forwards to Melbourne for a trial drug for a year now. This drug has helped Connor gain control of his itching & change his sleep & concentration for the better. As this is a trial the continuation is not guaranteed but the Melbourne doctors have other ideas & steps on hand to continue on with his treatment. As funding is minimal, liver disease is left out in Western Australia & opportunities are not here for Sam & Connor. We have decided that their best chance of health is for us to move to Melbourne, which their doctors over there agree with. Obviously this is costly & with building medical costs we are finding it difficult to pull this together and we would are aiming to be able to move in the next 10 months if not sooner. If you find yourself in the position to be able to help it would be greatly appreciated no matter how little & if you aren’t able that’s ok but we would love it if you’d consider looking into organ donation & registering to be a donor.
