A little about me
If you don't know me, my name is Brandon Scalf, as stated above. I was born in Kokomo Indiana - currently, reside in the city of St. Louis. Army Vet. Geek Squad repair agent. And Seminary student. I also run a Christian resourcing organization called Dead Men (Based off Galatians 2:20).
Why a new computer?
Heres the thing: My life requires the use of a powerful and reliable computer. Unfortunately, the computer I have now (which has lasted me the better part of 10 years) is neither of those things. I'm lucky if I can get it booted on anymore.
Thus, I need your help. Family, friends, and supporters!
The reason I am coming to you in this way is that getting a computer is somewhat time sensitive. I need it for both school and ministry.

School (Covenant Theological Seminary)
I am currently a student at Covenant Theological Seminary (covenantseminary.edu). It is my hope and heart's desire to one day plant a Bible preaching, Jesus loving church. To do so, I believe it is imperative that I am thoroughly equipped and trained for that mission. I believe Covenant Seminary is the best place to finish my M.Div degree.
It goes without saying that I will be writing countless papers. I will be using heavy duty Bible software to help me dig into the Biblical languages in a deeper way. I will need to submit assignments, send emails, read electronic books, and more. So I will certainly need a computer.

Ministry
Last summer I created a ministry called Dead Men (deadmenstuff.com ) with one desire: to reveal the glory, beauty, and urgency of following Jesus to real people, with real issues, in need of a real Savior. Since then, the response has been unreal. People are learning more about, and loving more deeply, Jesus!
Quite honestly the numbers are staggering. We reach thousands and thousands of people through distributing Christ-drenched content freely and widely via the internet. Things like:
* Articles
* Books
* Commentaries
* Bible Studies
* Podcasts
* Videos
* Live Teaching series
* And more!
These resources cover a range of topics including (but not limited to); dating, sex, marriage, the longings of the heart, depression, suffering, and most importantly; books of the Bible — all for the good of God's people and Jesus’ glory.
AND IT'S ALL FREE FOR THOSE THAT VISIT OUR SITE OR DOWNLOAD OUR RESOURCES OR JOIN IN ON THE DISCUSSION VIA PODCAST AND LIVE STREAM.
Unfortunately, all of this takes money. Money that increases almost daily. We want to produce the best content, with the best aesthetics, to reach as many people as possible for Jesus.
And we want to give it ALL away for FREE!
We have a staff of 8 people. We also have 28 writers (and growing). And all of these people donate that their time, energy and money to make this thing happen. And that is a blessing.
But in order to keep it free, and honestly, to keep it running I need a computer. As I am the one doing most, sometimes all, the behind the scenes work.
quite simply, I'm a broke seminary student and can't afford much else than whats currently in front of me.
