Community Well in the name of Dad.

Hi all,

My dad (Ajaz Qureshi) passed away on the 2nd June, early hours of the morning, at the tender age of 49. He passed away from a heart attack; the root cause of his heart attack was laryngeal cancer. Something we were told he never had. After undergoing about 12 biopsies, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he was still told that he did not have cancer and that he was okay...

My dad was suffering, he was in constant pain. He could not breathe. There were times that he was well, and times were he was not. While still going through everything, my dad never gave up until it was time to return to his maker.

Dad was still yet to take my Zakat* money from me for Ramadan, and every chance he got he would take Sadaqah* off me to give to charity. He gave to charity whenever he could, he gave to the poor whenever he could, he gave to those in whenever he could.  That was one thing he instilled in us children; to give to charity no matter how big or little.

So this is what I ask; my goal is to raise £2500 for Muslim Hands UK. With that money, I would like to build a community well in Pakistan.

"Access to clean water can transform the lives of a whole community. Community water wells can serve more than 1,000 people. They are often located in arid areas where water is particularly scarce. The wells are 1.5 meters wide and draw water from around 10 metres or more beneath the ground, making them dependable during all seasons. These water wells provide enough clean water for families, livestock and crops.

Imagine being able to provide water for 1000 or knowing that you were able to be a part of this? Being able to provide water is a form of Sadaqah.

Imagine the reward?

So I ask, from the bottom of my heart, to donate. No amount is to little.

Any information, please do not hesistate to contact me!

*Zakat - One of the 5 pillars of Islam - payment made annually under Islamic law on certain kinds of property and used for charitable and religious purposes.

*Sadaqah -  meaning 'charity', is the concept of voluntary giving in Islam. Sadaqah encompasses any act of charitable giving done out of compassion, love, friendship or generosity. It can be given to anyone, and it has no limits or guidelines.
