Community Creations: Music for All

$1,165 of $25,000 goal

Community Creations  www.communitycreationsmilton.com  is a place  for music and the arts in East Milton Square. We are on a mission to establish a space for studying and celebrating  music and the arts, that welcomes  and serves the entire community.  A place where everyone  feels empowered, encouraged, and supported, in their pursuit of both excellence in the arts and joy in the creative process.  We have been offering private music lessons and select small group classes since 2015, but we need your help taking it to the next level!
We want to start a homeschool coop, open classes for babies and toddlers, open more classes for students with special needs, offer internships to youth and teens, and expand our theatre program. We  also want to bring top notch artists and industry professionals in for master classes and  special workshops. And we are especially excited to partner with Boston Multicultural Music Therapy Center who will be moving their offices to Community Creations this fall!
Community Creations came in to existence with little money, a lot of heart, and a great big vision. The idea was to create a space where all members of the community could come for high quality music and theatre education, and where there would be no snobby, exclusive attitude! We wanted a down to earth atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, and we can meet you at the level your at and help you use your talents to grow.
So far it has been an incredible journey.  Our students have put on five recitals, three free outdoor community concerts events, performed at Quincy Porchfest, written and performed two one act plays,  put on a musical, and performed on the Radio. They have delivered truly outstanding work to excellent reviews!  Here's a note we received after our performance and interview on wemf Radio last spring:

" attached are individual tracks culled from our master station recordings of your students' performances.  I've listened to them again, and they're truly incredible talents....please let them know that it was absolutely my pleasure to have them on the show.  I feel very fortunate to have gotten to witness their performances, and each and every one of them was not only talented, but professional and courteous as well... they truly knocked our socks off with their abilities.  Please pass on my utmost admiration for their dedication, hard work, and willingness to do something that I absolutely understand can be a scary thing the first time.  Their relative youth was not a factor -- they're true performers, and I really mean it when I say I'm sure they're all going to go on to great creative heights.
In any case, please be in touch with ******* about booking a return performance, because we'd love to see all of you again. "

We have started something special with almost no funds.  We have even  been able to give six partial scholarships but there is so much more to do ! Our little studio has been a labor of love and we need your help to insure it remains open and continues to grow.  We have  just  managed to take on enough classroom space to achieve these goals and we are fundraising to:

• Insure we can keep the new space
• Fund increased financial add and offer our first full Scholarsips
• Purchase instruments and equipment
• Spread the word and bring in even more amazing students
• Hire our diverse staff of top notch teachers
• Launch our Single Parent Discount for ALL single parents who request  financial aid
• Develop programming for students with Autism and students with Downs Syndrome.
• Keep our doors open to offer affordable space so that Boston Multicultural Music Therapy Center can serve the South Shore with excellent licensed music therapists right here in East Milton Square

OUR TARGET: December 31, 2018

OUR VISION

It is also our mission to create an inclusive environment that empowers our students to find their voice and use it. We want to make arts education available to everyone. Help us provide a joyful and empowered experience making music and art and build a positive and inclusive community of artists along the way!
