Common Sense Culturists is a grass roots group that seeks to promote common sense ideas in order to build a better American community. We fight political correctness with truth.
Our idea is to create conservative alternatives to the social justice oganizations that dominate human services and education. In 2016 we launched Coaches and Therapists for Common Sense and Students for Common Sense for college campuses. In 2017 we changed the name of the latter group to Students for Western Culture to better reflect who we are. We want to grow those organizations.
We see ourselves as counter-revolutionaries that promote neighborliness and virtue. We fight cultural crap in all of its forms. We focus on responsibilities rather than rights. A lot of other groups are already focusing on rights, which is fine, but not enough of us are addressing the big picture - the decline of our civilization.
We challenge the conventional wisdom of the ruling class that dominates academia, entertainment, big business, government, the national media, and many think tanks and community organizations.
This is a non-sectarian and non religious organization for philosophical conservatives, Independents, and enlightened liberals. We are taking on the multiculturalists that have disdain for white people and western civilization itself. We wish to restore the enduring principles and community standards that made the United States exceptional and have unfortunately been steadily eroded for over a century.
Our primary change method is reason. But we also understand that many people are influenced by appeals to emotion, and thus we are also willing to employ emotional appeals to reach people.
We believe that in addition to using education and creative social marketing, it is important to use person to person community activism, infiltration, shame, withdrawing consent, and civil disobedience to change the culture.
In the past, we have spent too much energy on electoral politics. We believe if we can change the narratives that create meaning, the politicians will follow us. These methods have previously been the purview of community organizers on the hard left. We hope to change that.
