College Preparation Leilani Evacuee

My family and I were residents of Leilani estates when the erruptions and evacuation began. Despite this I've done my best to prepare for the upcoming school year and the start of my first year in college. I graduated the Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science with a 3.7 GPA and was accepted into the university of Hawaii at Manoa in Oahu in the Fall and obtain a bachelor's in engineering. Before Leilani was evacuated, I'd planned to work over the summer and sell my car in order to have some savings to cover the cost of my flight, basic furnishings, and textbooks. However, now I find myself displaced from my home with college fees, a plane ticket to Oahu to buy, and eventually a dorm to furnish (from a refrigerator and microwave, to bedding and food, the list is endless). My parents want to help but both lost their jobs because of the erruption. I currently have none of the funds I'm going to need and I would appreciate any amount of help during this time. Any excess funds raised with this fundraiser will go directly towards my tuition. Mahalo Nui Loa
