J-Pouch fund for Kevin
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Kevin. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. In 2001, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis when I was 12 years old. Over the 17 years of having the disease, my doctors and I have tried everything- steroids, suppositories, enemas, imuno-surpressant drugs (Humira, Remicade, Simponi, Entyvio) to name a few. However, none of them seemed to work for very long. Everything came to a head around Easter 2018, when my family and I decided the only move forward was to remove my colon in a very intensive surgery.
After having that surgery, I had to go back to the hospital 3 times due to complications. I am not in the clear yet. I still have 2 more surgeries to go to construct a J-Pouch for what I hope will be a more permanent solution to my digestive problems. The second surgery will take place October 25th, and the next about 3 months after that. This is the best chance I have to live a normal, pain-free life. Several hospital visits and major surgery has taken its toll financially and personally. I appreciate any and all donations, no matter how small.
THANK YOU!
