Here is their story
My husband and I have joined the club of infertility. It seems that no one wants to talk about this club or be a part of the club (I know I didn't). We had tried for more than 5 years with doctors saying "you're young, it will happen". As the days turned into months which then turned into years, the hurt and disappointment kept growing. Everywhere we went we were always asked the question, "Do you have children?" when you answer no, people either say I'm sorry or will ask why not, or you better get busy, time is running out. This then comes with the awkward silence and the squirming and later alone the tears.
After months of doctor visits and several surgeries and follow-ups, the conclusion was the same. We needed to start on the road of fertility of treatments. First the rounds of Clomid started and then that lead into fertility drugs with months of shots given at certain dates and times. Nothing like someone telling you when to procreate. Later came the cycles of IUI or Intrauterine Insemination, where the doctor takes out the job of the man and hopes a child will be produced. Three IUI attempts and fails turn to IVF or Invitro Fertilization.
So now Cole and I are on the IVF train and are slowly chugging our way down the track. We are praying and ask everyone to pray with us. Our doctor has determined we will probably have to do 2 cycles of IVF before we can attempt to having a child. This came as a hard fast ball to the gut. Knowing the price of IVF and medications we both know we are stepping out on a limb in faith.
Please pray for us as we chug our way down this track. The yearning and longing for a child is a hard one when it doesn't come so natural.
