Help Honor My Mom, Rebecca

Donation protected
My name is Catherine. I am a new adult seeing as I turned 18 right before Christmas 2015 (bottom left of picture). My family consists of my sister, 14, my first brother, 13, and my youngest brother and sibling, 10. After being sick for about two weeks, my mom (in the middle) suddenly took a turn for the worst. Feb. 6th I talked to my mom before I went to work at 11 and she was fine. I told my sister to wake her up at 5 and she couldn't wake her so I got home, called 911 and did CPR on her until they got there.

I was offered the chance to go in the ambulance with my mom, however I have my younger siblings who I couldn't just leave to fend for themselves. When I was twelve (six years ago this month) my dad was killed in a car accident where the driver was texting and driving and ran a stop sign before hitting him. He died at the hospital before my family was even notified of the accident occurring.

When I finally got my siblings somewhere and got to the hospital, I was allowed back in the ER room to see her and I could tell that things weren't good. She was blue and she had all these tubes and wires everywhere and people were in and out of the room like crazy. They let me hold her hand and talk to her and I told her that if she needed to let go and go, then she needed to do that and the rest of us would be okay. Well after being transferred to the ICU, my mom's doctors and nurses told me she was showing signs of being brain dead.

The morning of Feb. 7th it was confirmed and we were told to begin making arrangements, but I wanted to wait until her mom could get out here to be with us and see her and so she could help with everything since I'm so young and don't know how any of this works. I was also given a social worker to speak with since it is my wish and my mom's for my younger siblings to be in my custody until they are ready to be on their own when they are adults.

Feb. 8th her head doctor sat my Grandma and I down and told us her organs are failing and her brain was swelling there was no chance at hope.

Feb. 9th is the date that is set to let her go peacefully unless her heart decides to stop before then.

My family needs help. We can't afford to have a service for someone who has helped so many people and touched so many lives without help. When calling friends and family, I talked to so many people who I didn't even realized she had helped.

My mom put everyone before herself. There have been times where she couldn't afford groceries so she gave up her things for us to have food. When we could and she saw some struggling, she would pay for their groceries at the store and give them cash to help them get through rough times. She has helped so many people that I can't even begin to realize how many lives she has touched even when she couldn't help them she found a way to.

My mom deserves a funeral that will allow family and friends and those who couldn't make it to the hospital to get closure and say goodbye. We need to pay for everything from cremation to an ern to the actual service itself.

Getting any support as soon as possible would be great seeing as we are calling the funeral house where my dad's funeral was held Feb. 9th on the advice of the doctors.

Words cannot express how thankful my family and I will be to have this money to give an amazing woman the funeral she deserves. Without this we cannot afford to do anything and there are so many people who want to say goodbye that would be so grateful to be given the chance to say goodbye. To be able to put into words what this means to me would be to invent new words. The future is so uncertain right now with not knowin about medical bills that will need to be paid and how things within my family will go that to be able to give her a service that she deserves would be incredible.

Thank you so much for taking the time to even read this even if you don't donate. All donations go towards the service and any extra bills that may pop up during this time related to my mom.

I just can't thank you enough.
