Help Micke Fight FAP (colon cancer)
Mickelluh has always shown signs of being sick in some sort of way so when Rachael, his mom, was diagnosed with Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) when he was 5 months old, she began worrying that he also had the same disease. Mickes parents tried for six years to get someone to listen to thier concerns that Micke may possibly also be inflicted with FAP, but NO ONE listened. They were told he was too young and thier concerns were irrelevant. It wasnt until they visited the UAB Children’s Hospital in Alabama that someone listened. They arranged for Micke to have a colonoscopy, and sure enough, the Denis's 6 year old boy had polyps and those polyps had signs of adenomas. This discovery would begin years of doctors visits for Micke and more procedures than any boys body should have to go through. He has fought and continues to fight but the diseaseis aggressive and the families insurance is not willing to cover ANY of the procedures in Ohio necessary to give him a fighting chance this go round. Rachael, Mickes mother, recently graduated from NWFSC with her Emergency Medical Technician Certification and has had to put off taking a job due to Mickes health. She's having difficulty covering the nearly one hour trips back and forth to the hospital in Pensacola for all of the doctors appointments. Between oncology, GI and now Surgery. Now with a possible trip to Colombus OH for a chance of a surgery to rid of these adenomas and prevent the Whipple surgery for a while longer, the family has no way to cover the added expenses to cover the trip or stay once there. The family is desperately in need of prayers & money for medical trips & incurred expences.
On her last update Mickes mom Rachael wrote "The next step will be to try to do this by endoscopic procedure where they'd use something to "burn" the adenomas off of his duodenum (which unfortunately has risks). Our last resort woud be an extremely invasive surgery that will reconstruct Mickes insides (commonly referred to as a "Whipple Procedure". The incision would be horizontal under the ribs, taking out half to three quarters of his pancreas, part of his bile duct, his whole duodenum, gall bladder, as well as a small part of his stomach all while trying to avoid even coming close to the major artery supplying his liver. The doctors will then have to put everything back together in different orders. Its a lengthy surgery, minimal 4+ hours with a hospital recovery for an 3-4+ weeks and home recovery for at least 4-6 months once released, possibly up to a year depending on how his organs regain function. He will never be the same and the consequences of not having the needed procedures can be far worse than we know. We will exhaust ALL other measures before heading in this direction. Through all of the worry we are still trying to figure out a way to fund this trip. It is not easy for myself or his father. We need to go to Ohio for the endoscopic surgery before even thinking about the other one. The major surgery would be at Sacred Heart in Pensacola but as of now our insurance will NOT cover the procedure."
Please help Mickes family to cover these expenses. As thier friend I've watched them struggle for years to do everything in thier power to give Micke the quality of life he deserves. Its out of my own concern and love for Micke that I create this page to help his family, please join me in supporting Rachael, Travis, and Mickes loving grandparents who are in the process of selling thier house to move down here and assist with Micke. Raise Mickelluh and his family up in your prayers and please donate what you can and spread the word so that we can help Micke fight a battle no one should ever have to fight.
I am adding some websites that can be read about his conditions. The first is the information about the Familial Adenomatous Polyposis.
The second is about the Whipple surgery. It is a video.
This is the last email between Gina and I involving the gofundme team. Here is your proof. Next will be the conversation with Gina admitting she will not sign it over to me. Now who is lying Jason? And btw. My son is still very sick. Sorry to say his dad does not know anything about his health. He has not gone to an appointment in over a year. Nor has he seen him more than a handful of times in the past year. And your wife and mother of your child refuses to hand it over so I can get him to the surgery.

GoFundMe Trust and Safety Team
To help Travis and Jason with their memory, I have a private message from Gina dated 04/08/2017 stating that the funds must be withdrawn and she needs to tell them who to release them to. I have another one from August 2017 with Gina stating that Rachael should have the funds any day now. This clearly isn't "years" that Rachael has had control, if she ever has had control. I don't know who isn't telling the truth, but clearly, someone isn't.
Let’s look at the facts: 1. What is not shown is that I let Rachael and the GoFundMe POCs know that I no longer have access to any of the accounts. I tried to do exactly what the trust and safety dept. asked of me and when it came to a password reset option it sent a reset code to a phone number that is not mine so I left it alone so that I didn’t screw up anything that may have been done to give Rachael access. 2. Why would I donate my own money and spend so much time on this designing T-Shirts, advertising etc. if I didn’t want Micke to get a needed surgery? 3. I raised this money almost 4 years ago because I was told he needed surgery as soon as possible to save his life. I dropped everything in my own life to make sure Rachael and Micke would have the money they needed. I spend a bunch of my own money to help. I hadn’t heard anything from Rachael since 2014 and then one day I get an extremely nasty message threatening to sue me for grand theft, calling me a horrible person and a bunch of other stuff. The Rachael I had known back when I was their neighbor was not the person I was witnessing on messenger and because her father expressed concerns about her spending the money on herself I asked her for proof before I released the funds, at the time I didn’t know that i had already been locked out of the account. Because I put my name out there while raising funds I just wanted to make sure that the funds were going toward the intended issue. I wasn’t rude or malicious, I just asked for proof. 4. What do I have to gain from withholding money if Micke needs a specific treatment? What would my motive be? I’m not holding anyone back. This is not my fault. You’ve managed to successfully painted me as the reason why Micke can’t have this surgery and I have no control over anything and I’ve said this repeatedly. When I log into GoFundMe this campaign is no longer in there. When I try to log into WePay I get passed to a secondary verification for a password reset that’s sent to Rachael’s number. My hands are tied. I did everything in my power to raise money for something I felt was an important cause and I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. I’ve been threatened, called names and accused of theft. It’s not in my character and it breaks my heart that the hard work put into helping Micke has been morphed into something so ugly. Here’s the original e-mail that the GoFund me Trust and Safety Dept as well as Rachael got back in August. Good evening, I do not have access to either account. Rachael has changed the log-in on both to try and remove me. I tried to explain that in the past emails, my hands are tied unfortunately. I'm locked out of the Wepay account since she changed it to her info and I have no ability to access the Gofundme account since I have her full access 3 years ago. Unless I can get some guidance on how to log into either I really can't do anything. I have 0 control over the account. Last week I had access to the WePay portion and assumed it would be an easy fix through WePay so I politely asked for verification due to the conflicting stories I was getting, that caused a huge mess and now, from whatever was done in the account, I am no longer able to access either account. I tried logging into both several times.
If Gina has turned over the account to me then why can I not change the email? Take her name off it? Oh thats right because she refuses to do so! I have every message and email saved andn I will be glad to post them for you Jason. I am about to get a lawyer and I will win! And you will be sued
Jason, I was also on the account but for some reason, I was unable to log in!! Someone changed the password! I now have many friends that have received this update and are wondering what's going on? So, "Dr. Travis" says Micke isn't sick anymore, well, that's great news!! No matter what Micks dad says, this fundraiser was set up for Mickelluh!!! I don't know what's going on but someone better get this figured out and get these funds to Micke!! Because of this fundraiser and this confusion, Rachael and I are no longer speaking, but I still have to stand up for our grandson!! The people that donated in Micke's name deserve to know that their donations have been used for Mick's care, even though "Dr. Travis" says Mick is "cured". I don't know who now has control but I do know that if it was Rachael, we wouldn't be having this conversation, and if it was me, the doctors would already have this fund in their hands to be sure Micke was "cured"!!! If this isn't resolved SOON, there will be MANY of my friends contacting Gofundme ! And remember, Gina's name is on this account!!
I too have FAP and was diagnosed last year at 42 with colorectal cancer and a precancerous villous adenoma in my duodenum. I am sharing your story on my facebook and Bubblews pages to hopefully reach even more funding possibilities. My heart goes out to you and your family during this time of need. Many prayers, Dee
We at the Hereditary Colon Cancer Foundation just shared your fundraiser with our Facebook audience of over 600 others affected by FAP. We sincerely hope this helps you raise the funds you need to support Micke's care.
Awww! Love the updated cover photo! LOL! ♡♡♡ Micke gave me permission to share the video in class yesterday! This has touched the lives of so many. I hope and pray he gets to Ohio soon!
