Biscuits Club West LLC is asking for reimbursement of personal costs taken to ensure the preservation of Club West Pond and it's wildlife, without obligation. The funds also pay for a Fish Memorial, organized and designed by Biscuits. We took a risk for the community and are hurting very much so, please help return the favor in donations or a simple visit to the restaurant and Biscuits Club West will always strive to serve Ahwatukee.
The Ahwatukee community has had an outstanding response to what has transpired in the Club West Golf Club. The spectrum of people affected by the actions of the owner of Club West Golf Club is wide-ranging. From homeowner to golf patron; it makes sense that community members, as well as the whole of Ahwatukee, have come together to combat the degradation of Club West Golf Club as well as the Club West Pond.
If you do not know the story, here is a brief description of events:
*Club West Management Company fails to pay water bill, not once, but multiple months worth. A myriad of workers remain unpaid as well.
*The grass begins to brown, in a desperate attempt, they begin hand-watering the greens, but to no avail.
*They decide to keep hand-watering, with the Club West Pond as their source of water. This brings the pond low to its natural stopping point.
*One would think that they would stop here, with the aquatic life now in danger, but they actually continue siphoning water even further, truly for no reason.
*The fish were now exposed and in danger, creating outcry from patrons who have come to see the fish and ducks for many years.
*Biscuits Club West organized a legal, foolproof plan to rescue and relocate all fish, turtles, and waterfowl. We tell the community and all seems well, until we received backlash from the owner of Club West Golf Club. We could not go through with the plan without his legal consent. The plan fails.
*Through different sessions, some turtles were removed from the pond, however, all fish begin to die in the shallow waters.
* A putrid and disastrous scene unfolds, with dead fish by the lots and horrible smell. You would think its time for Club West Golf Club to take responsibility, but days pass with nothing transpiring to curb the potential dangers. Coyotes, Hawks, Raccoons, Sanitation, Putrid Smell, an Unpleasant Scene.
*Biscuits Club West takes action again to provide the pond with much needed cleaning services. These cleanings were very expensive and due to people thinking it was our fault, we now have very little funds to operate.
That leads us to now, all we can do is honor the life lost with a memorial decoration, we think its important to give them a proper send-off for being a spectacle in Club West for so many years. The costs we are asking for help on from the community are the following:
*A Fish Memorial Decoration
*Four Pond Cleanings by Lake Maintenance Service Company
*Heavy Duty 40lb+ Fish Nets
*Food Costs for feeding those that helped with the rescue and cleanup efforts
*Hourly Rates of Biscuits Club West employees for the hours we paid them to help clean and rescue.
