Climbing the O2 for Palestine

Donation protected

Many know that every year, Working with Villages in Palestine go to Palestine and do projects on the ground out there, such as planting olive and fruit trees for farmers and familes who have lost their trees due to illegal settlement building.

This year is no exception. However, this year we are all focussing on individual projects to fundraise for.  Mine this year is raising money for incontinence pads for a 15-year-old girl from Tubas who is paralysed. Her father is unable to work and cannot provide these pads. She uses approximately one box a month.

Detailed below are  2 other families that we have been asked to help also.

We would love to support all 3 families but, as it takes roughly £200 per year to provide these incontinence pads for one family for one year, at the moment we have to consentrate on just one family.

If however, I can exceed my target we will be able to help all 3 families.

The first family is a paralysed 45-year-old man from Salfit who can never enter the bathroom and lives alone in his room on the top floor of his brothers house. He uses a lot of incontinence pads. He needs six boxes of incontinence pads a month.

The second family is a boy who is 9 years old and is paralysed. His father suffers from diabetes and works on a taxi but his income is low. He also uses one box a month.

So, this year, we have decided to climb the O2 in London as our challenge. Lisa, Elaine, Suzanne and Rachel, will be all harnessed up (hopefully) and will set off climbing up the iconic building on Saturday 8th September to raise funds for Working with Villages in Palestine. ."There’s no lift, no escalator, and no-one to carry us. It’s what they call Urban Mountaineering.

We will ascend all the way to the top of The O2 via a walkway, suspended 52m above ground level. Kitted out with a climb suit, boots and harness we will be every inch the urban mountaineer.

Surely we all deserve a £ or two of your hard earned cash for doing this.

Many thanks to all our supporters, we couldn't do any projects for the people of Palestine without you and your help and generosity.

Please look at our Facebook page to see what we are up to out there in October.

We will be going out in October and delivering to the families then, as well as doing all the different projects we will be focussing on.

Every penny that we receive is spent on the ground on  Projects in Palestine. Literally every penny raised counts.
