Super Mich Climbing 5895 Meters for Super Miles
Donation protected
My biggest dream during my few years stay in Tanzania is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. It is Africa's highest mountain at 5895m. I will finally get to fulfil my dream next week as I attempt to climb to the peak from 10th-17th February. I would very much love to dedicate my climb to Miles and help raise much-needed funds for the Progeria Family Circle Reunion.
Miles is the cool 12-year-old son of Leah, one of my best friends in Stockholm, Sweden. I had the privilege of getting to know Miles and his family in 2010 in an English-speaking playgroup. Through the years of our wonderful friendship, I've had a unique opportunity to follow this beautiful family through their courageous journey of battling a rare, fatal genetic condition called Progeria.
Miles has Progeria, a severe aging disease that affects 1 in 20 million people. People with Progeria age about 8 times faster than average people and their average lifespan is 14 years. There are currently 156 known cases of Progeria in the world and Miles is the only one from Sweden.
One of Miles' biggest wishes is to attend the annual Progeria Family Circle (PFC) Reunion that is held in a different country in Europe each year, organised and hosted by a family with progeria with support of the PFC charity. The families affected by Progeria meet to have loads of fun, share their experiences, give one another support and create wonderful memories together. It has always been challenging to organise PFC reunion as it depends entirely on private individual fund givers. (Read more here..http://progeriafamilycircle.blogspot.com/p/reunions.html)
The $2000 that i raise through this campaign will cover the cost of flights for Miles and his family to attend the PFC Reunion this year. I would deeply appreciate any contribution to help Miles fulfil his wish.
We ❤️ You, Miles!
