Cliff Young Starting Over After Devastating Fire

Donation protected
April 2nd started like any other day for our brother, Clifford Young. He got out of bed, fed his beloved pets – his dog Brooklyn and cats Wanda and Leo – and left for work well before sunrise. Not even three hours later he received a devastating phone call: the three level townhouse he shared with two roommates was on fire and his pets were missing. His immediate response was not to ask if his property was okay – it was to ask if his roommates and pets were okay.

The flames tore through everything, including homes adjacent to Clifford’s. The fire was so intense that several towns were called in to provide mutual assistance; the house was still burning hours later. All of Clifford’s material possessions, which were kept on the third floor of the unit, were destroyed by a combination of the three alarm fire, smoke, and water damage.

The devastation this has caused is compounded by the fact that Clifford’s cats are missing. Leo was photographed being rescued, but escaped.
Wanda on the other hand has not been seen since before the fire was called in. He has spent every waking hour trying to find them, to no avail. His animals were and continue to be his world; he is more concerned about their wellbeing than his own and his heart is broken by the thought that he may never see them again.

Clifford is a good man whose life is in upheaval. He has been rendered homeless and two of the pets that give his life purpose and meaning are missing. Right now our family is trying our best to be there for him, but there is only so much we can do. We are asking for any size donation – no donation is too small – to help him get back on his feet. At present all he has is his dog and the clothes on his back. He has no other clothes, no items stored that he can use - he has nothing. If the cats are found (God willing), some of these funds will also be used to make sure they are physically okay, as there is no telling what they have been through in these last two days.

We are also asking that if you see Wanda or Leo – whose photos are attached to this page – that you PLEASE contact us as soon as possible with a location. Material goods can be replaced, but the loss of his cats we don’t think Clifford will truly be capable of overcoming.
