Cleo the cat's vet bills

Donation protected
I took Cleo in as a rescue cat I found on the street nearly twelve and a half years ago.

In the last year she has had quite a lot of ill-health, being off her food and losing a lot of weight.   She was found to have a hyper-active thyroid, so she's on Felimazole for that, which seems to work.   Then she had a liver-problem, so she was on Denamarin for that, but has come off that now.   Then she was found to have very high blood-pressure (I didn't know cats got it!) so she went on medication for that, but has come off as her blood-pressure went down a lot.   Then she kept having cystitis, urinary tract infections.   She's been on repeated antibiotics, but keeps getting it.   Clear of it now though.   Throughout this she would sometimes go off her food, so I gave her Cerenia (prescribed by the vet) for nausea.

Eventually she had an abdominal scan to see what was going on.   She'd had one in September but nothing much amiss then.   This time they found she had lymphoma though, the most frequent king of cancer that cats get.   She's got it in her colon, and probably also her stomach.

The vet surgery put me in contact with their oncologist, and I decided to try chemotherapy with Cleo.   Chemo for pets is not as bad as it sometimes is for people, as I think the vets take the attitude that it's not fair to cause the animal a lot of suffering for long-term good as they don't understand it.   So when she started her chemo, it was a matter of wait and see how ill she'd be on it.   She is very well!   Better than she's been for months.

Cleo had vincristine intravenously nearly three weeks ago, then a fortnight ago she had another drug which the vet gave as a pill, then last week she had vincristine again, and tomorrow she's due to have a different drug.   She has put on a lot of weight because she's also on steroids, but her dose has been cut now so hopefully she won't get adverse ill-effects.

The vet said they would expect to treat her for six months, and that it would probably cost about six thousand pounds.   It has already cost around eight hundred pounds in the last three weeks.   This is in addition to big bills over the last year with her different problems and investigations.

I am thus looking for funding to pay her vet-bills, as soon as possible.   I have already spent an enormous amount, and don't want to be unable to give her the best that she needs.

Cleo is a lovely affectionate little cat, ready with a purr for me, and she loves to come on my lap and purr!

I would SO much appreciate any help offered to help me pay these bills for my little cat.   It is so good to see her improving and doing so well, but I really need to be able to fund this for it to continue.

Thank you so much for reading.
