75 Cleft Surgeries in 5 days!!!

$42,781 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 57 people in 9 months

Love Without Reason is going back to Zimbabwe to do another medical mission!!! This time around we will be doing 75 Surgeries in 5 days with a team of around 15 professionals from USA, India and Vietnam.

The dates for the screening camp and the medical mission is set from Feb 11-17. Our wonderful team of volunteers, churches and other organizations are ready for the team to arrive in Zimbabwe. We are also searching for medical supplies and sundries that could help us in this event.

During our last visit to Zimbabwe, we had almost 149 patients show up for surgery, but because of the limitations that we had in terms of Operations Theaters and staff, we could only do 58 surgeries. Many dear ones went home sad and dejected because they couldn't get their children operated upon. Their groans and cries are still resonating in our ears.

On behalf of Love Without Reason I want to thank all of our friends for donating to the cause. For the mission to be successfully completed, we have to raise $50,000.

Let us work together to answer the cries of those children and parents. Let us not be late to help these children, but work together to reach every child!

In 2018, it is our desire to conduct medical mission camps in Zimbabwe, Kenya, India and other countries. Your donations will go a long way in helping LWR change the lives of young children with facial deformities.

You can use the Donate link above to donate to this cause or send your donations by check to Love Without Reason, P.O. Box 21009, Chattanooga TN 37424 or use our website www.lovewithoutreason.org/donate

Until the world is cleft-free,

Many of you have been asking me how we do our Medical Camps in foreign countries. Today I am so happy to share with you a video that was produced in Zimbabwe during our June Medical Mission.

We are planning on going back, early February to do more!! We will be doing 75 surgeries in 5 days in Zimbabwe. I hope you will share this video and be a part of the mission. 9 doctors from India and Vietnam along with other support staff from United States and Kenya go on this trip to Zimbabwe.

During the last camp, we had almost 125 volunteers show up to help us. 150+ patients showed up at the camp, however we were able to only help 58 people with surgeries. The rest were sent home with great disappointment.

We were so saddened by the sheer number of patients that we couldn't help. All I could think of was Philip and our family and the disappointment that we would have felt if we were turned away.

This is the reason why we are going back to soon to Zimbabwe and will continue to go back till we have helped as many patients as possible receive free cleft surgeries.

Join us in this cause. Let us know if you want to go on future missions. We are looking for volunteers to join us on these humanitarian causes.

God bless you

Santhosh Mathews

On 14 November, 2017, almost 5 months after his cleft lip surgery, I met Polite Makari, a 14 year-old young man in Harare, Zimbabwe. He had traveled with his mother, Juliet, a long long way to meet me.

I could hardly recognize him as his face had completely transformed after the surgery. Juliet, shook my hand and told me that I will never know how much this surgery has helped Polite. Polite has been a good student in school, however as the young man grew older the bullying increased resulting in Polite withdrawing from the society. Our surgeons did a fantastic job on Polite's lip and now his smile is back.

LWR is going back to Zimbabwe and I invite you to join us and help bring more surgeries to children in that country. We are going to do 75 surgeries in 5 days in February 2018. To accomplish this goal, we have to raise $50,000 in the next two months.

I invite you to join the cause, donate to the cause and also share this video. IF any of you are interested in going to Zimbabwe with us, please let us know at info@lovewithoutreason.org

Thank you
