Clear Lake Islamic Center Expansion

Assalaamu alaykum all,

Clear Lake Islamic Center (affectionately referred to as CLIC) has been the heart of the Muslim community of South East Houston for over a decade. Our community is a diverse and vibrant one, driven by a commitment to helping humanity through bringing the teachings of Islam to life.  

At CLIC, we believe in being active members of the city of Houston and partnering with organizations to advance causes that we believe in and need our support, and as such we have been able to participate in yearly walks for breast cancer, community clean up projects, food distribution, and many other social welfare programs directed at prisons, shelters and aiding the less fortunate.  

Alhamdulillah, we've been blessed to be able to design a family friendly masjid that has something for everyone; a play pen that would make McDonald's jealous, Mommy room for mothers with small children, comfortable youth lounge and our fish tank that welcomes all visitors.   CLIC has become a model for other organizations who have even gone as far as to send members to study the set up of the masjid to be emulated in other communities.  

We want to go further in advancing the concept of the Modern Masjid in America, and we need your help.  The masjid has been going through phases of development in the past five years, now in order for the masjid to go to the next stage the masjid has taken a loan of $550,000, which we plan to pay over 2 years but I am appealing to you today to raise 100,000 over this campaign.

The prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam said, "Whoever builds for Allah a house, even if it is the size of a bird's nest, Allah will build for him a house in paradise." (Ahmad).
