Classroom for Arorami Ayegun school

Donation protected

We are volunteers with the VSO ICS programme aiming to improve the standard of education in Kwara state, Nigeria. We are working at 4 schools around the Apata-Ajele community, which resides about 15 minutes from the Illorin airport. My team of 6 volunteers have been placed at the Arorami Ayegun school and have had our work cut out so far! We have started off by helping to facilitate English, Maths, ICT and P.E lessons alongside the teachers at the school. We have been introducing new forms of teaching to the classes, this includes new techniques which aim to help students who learn through different styles. We have also started up after school clubs to help the students learn more about science, debate/public speaking & english literacy. The reason we are trying to raise money for this school is to finish a much needed new classroom that has been partially built but unfortunately left in an unusable state for the students. Currently there are 2 classes in one classroom that makes it incredibly hard for students, teachers and volunteers alike to focus on anything that is trying to be taught. 2 subjects at one time is very confusing when you are trying to focus! It would make a world of difference for present and future students if we could get the classroom finished before our placement finishes on the 18th of December, which is why we are asking for your help! Anything you can donate will be a massive help for the people here and it will drastically improve the standard of education for these students! Thank you for taking the time to read about our cause and I hope you can spare even the smallest amount to help improve these kid's lives for the better.
