Teaneck HS 1T7 trip to NMAAHC
Donation protected
The entire 2017 graduating class of Teaneck High School, accompanied by the senior class dean and several members of the staff as chaperones, have been donated free tickets to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) in Washington, D.C. on Friday, December 9, 2016. Needless to say, this is an amazing opportunity for our students. THS’s seniors will be one of the first, if not the first, high school class in Bergen County to visit the Smithsonian’s newly opened exhibits. However, in order for this trip to be affordable for everyone, we need to raise money for the cost of transportation to and from the school. We will need to hire seven buses for the round trip to NMAAHC in Washington, D.C. The cost is expected to be approximately fifteen thousand ($15,000.00) dollars.
This trip is subject to the approval of the Teaneck Board of Education and we are currently seeking that approval. Our goal is to raise the funds and to demonstrate to the Board of Education that support for this kind of activity extends beyond the community our school serves. Therefore, we are humbly asking everyone who receives this letter to please consider making a financial contribution that will enable our students to take advantage of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture’s—an exhibition space which offers a details and unvarnished view of African-American life, history and culture. Time is of the essence because the transportation expenses must be remitted to the bus company no later than Friday, November 18, 2016.
