Clara’s Transition Fund

I’m a trans woman currently saving up for transition costs. In total, I estimate that it will cost ~$52,000USD to cover my entire transition. This accounts for funding for SRS/GRS (~$7,500), facial feminization surgery (~$8,000), top surgery (~$3,500), hair removal treatments (~$12,500), vocal cord surgery (~$12,000), legal documents (~$500), and 10 years of funding for estrogen (most of the rest of the funds). These estimates are based upon averages of what insurance in the U.S. will cover, plus travel & recovery costs. In the spirit of full transparency, the minimum pricetag that exists would be ~$3,000USD, based on the most generous and aggressively transgender-affirming health insurance policies, and the maximum pricetag approaches $450,000USD, assuming no health insurance coverage. The estimate I chose is based upon the current average cost throughout the greater Midwest region.
