Clancy's Beacons of Light

Hi, my name is Chris and on Tuesday, March 1st, our lives were changed forever when the word "cancer" came slamming into our lives once again with a hurricane of life-altering phrases like "metastatic melanoma" and "innumerable tumors". Our big brother, Clancy, our beacon of light and kindness and joy, is about to face the battle of his life.
Clancy is a dedicated schoolteacher to the little ones who lovingly call him Mister Walsh, he is a devoted dad to his Katie Mae, he is a caring big brother to the five of us siblings who are so lucky to have grown up with him, and he is the doting husband to his beloved Jennifer. But most of all he is a man of God, who nurtures his spiritual life as ardently as a shepherd tends his flock.
The cancer is in his kidneys, his lungs and worst of all, his liver. He is in for a long, treacherous road ahead and an unimaginable fight, but ask anyone who knows him and they say they can't imagine anyone more spiritually ready to take up that sword against this insidious cancer. Still, it is already taking its toll. He can no longer work in his classroom at all. His wife, Jennifer, also a teacher, puts in long hours in her classroom and then comes home to manage doctors' appointments, picking up medicines, and getting Clancy to his treatments. We desperately need the kindness of friends, family, and strangers alike.
Another great fighter once said, "“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” Muhammad Ali has bravely battled in and out of the ring, and now it is our chance to lend a hand to another good man facing the fight of a lifetime.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
