Claire's Medical Fund

Claire has been fighting several life threatening illnesses which have taken away her ability to work or live a normal life. She’s disabled, homebound and relies on home healthcare and palliative care for her illnesses including Vascular Ehlers Danlos, POTS, Mast Cell Activation with repeated episodes of anaphylaxis, Heart Valve Disease, Sjogren’s, an incomplete L4-5 spinal cord injury with neurogenic bladder and neuropathy from nerve damage (from an emergency spine surgery 5/26/18), osteoarthritis, mycotoxin disease, chronic blood clots, and now she’s fighting bartonella as well.

She’s survived several life threatening complications including hypovolemic shock, cardiac arrest, sepsis x2, endocarditis (heart infection), a suspected heart attack and TIA (mini stroke) as well as seizures.

Everyday is a fight to stay alive and with that fight comes the need for meds, medical supplies and healthcare which her Medicaid doesn’t cover the entire cost of. Thankfully they’re covering the costs of her daily IV treatments which add up to $4,000/month as well as some of her meds. She still has compounded meds and other medications that she needs to live which aren’t covered by Medicaid. In addition she needs vitamins and nutrition shakes since she’s unable to eat and digest food normally due to a partially paralyzed stomach (gastroparesis).
