Victoria's Fight w/ Breast Cancer

Where do I start?? About a month and half ago Victoria was diagnosed with breast cancer. This came as a huge surprise for everyone as you can imagine. The doctors were even shocked because typically women around her age do not get this type of breast cancer. Instead of planning for a wedding we have decided to put everything on hold for now. We are putting all our focus and energy to fight this breast cancer and getting Victoria healthy.
On top of getting the news that she has breast cancer we were informed how chemo treatment could affect her reproductive system. We now also need to plan and think of our future and starting a family. The doctor has suggested we do egg preservation because the chemo treatment she will be going through may affect her reproductive system and there is a possibility she will go into early menopause.
As many of us know insurance companies always try to do the minimum and when they have to pay out, they make things extremely difficult. We still need to reach her deductible and having to add fertility treatment into the ratio the costs are already exceeding $10,000 and we haven’t really begun anything (those are mainly just the tests and certain medications), not to mention surgery and other treatments that will follow.
I am creating this GoFund page for Victoria’s medical/fertility expenses in hopes we can get some relief even if it’s just a small amount. Every little bit helps. My goal and our family’s goal are to help her focus on the treatment and getting well.
I know some of you have been wondering where that fun and outgoing girl went the last couple of months. I assure you we didn’t become that “boring” couple. Victoria and I understand that this journey that life has decided to take us on will be a difficult one. We feel blessed to be surrounded by friends and family during this difficult time and know that we have your support. We ask you all to please keep Victoria in your thoughts and prayers.
The doctors are confident that they will be able to treat the Cancer, but the road ahead is long. They estimate the entire process will be anywhere from 12 – 18 months.
I will be updating this page and keeping everyone informed as we start this journey together.
