Antonio y yo vivimos en Venezuela junto a nuestra pequeña hija, Amaia. Somos una familia unida y feliz, día a día trabajamos duro para brindarle lo mejor de nosotros y de la vida a nuestra hija, siempre con energía y amor.
Antonio es un hombre de 45 años que siempre ha buscado la manera de incluir el deporte en su estilo de vida, y que de esa misma manera nunca ha tenido ningún tipo de vicio nocivo.
Nuestra historia de preocupaciones e incertidumbre comenzó hace dos semanas, cuando Antonio tuvo un fuerte dolor en el pecho y acudimos a una clínica, tras recetarle calmantes y antibióticos, se mejoró. Hace unos días nos acercamos nuevamente a la clínica a buscar los informes médicos necesarios para introducirlos al seguro y el medico al auscultarlo notó un ruido inusual el cual describió como un soplo por lo que indicó placas y ecocardiograma.
Estos exámenes revelaron que el diafragma de la arteria aorta estaba inflamado, por lo cual lo refirió a un cardiólogo. El cardiólogo le dice que la solución es una intervención quirúrgica, sin embargo no lo considera algo apremiante, le dice que pueden programarla para el mes de enero.
Antonio permanece en la clínica para someterse a algunos de los exámenes necesarios para la intervención. Uno de estos exámenes es el que revela que tiene una fisura en la arteria aorta. De inmediato es admitido para una operación de emergencia.
La fisura es una disección aortica ocasionada por un síndrome llamado Marfan.
Antes de la operación el medico se me acerca a comentarme lo compleja que es la misma, a explicarme los riegos y las posibilidades que existían de que aun resultando un éxito la operación, mi esposo pudiese perder la vida.
Antonio sufrió un 70% de daño en la aorta, por lo cual esta tuvo que ser reemplazada por un tubo, además una de sus válvulas tuvo que ser reemplazada por una mecánica.
La operación fue un éxito, esa era la primera prueba. Ahora quedan 4 semanas cruciales de recuperación.
Yo tengo miedo, miedo de perderlo, miedo de que nuestra hija Amaia de casi tres años, no lo tengas más y no pueda disfrutar de todo el amor y la energía que el siempre nos ha transmitido. Tengo miedo de que la lesión esté en otra arteria debido a su enfermedad y que pueda colapsar en otro momento. Tengo miedo de que por preocuparse por problemas económicos le pase algo. No quiero que sepa que el seguro NO cubrió completo el presupuesto, ni el tubo que le colocaron.
No tengo cómo cubrir los gastos. Necesito de su ayuda, cualquier aporte es inmenso y profundamente agradecido. El dinero que colecte me ayudará a pagar la deuda que resultó del procedimiento.
Antonio siempre ha querido subir El Everest, para mi recolectar el dinero es equivalente a ese proceso y esfuerzo. Quiero mantenerlo siempre junto a su familia, sano y fuerte como siempre ha sido.

Our history of concerns and uncertainty began two weeks ago, when Antonio had a severe pain in his chest and we went to a clinic. After prescribing him painkillers and antibiotics, he felt better. A few days ago we went back to the clinic to pick the necessary medical reports to introduce them to the insurance. While we were there the doctor listened to his heart, he noticed an unusual noise that he described as a murmur for which he indicated radiographs and an echocardiogram.
These tests revealed that the diaphragm of the aorta artery was inflamed, so he referred him to a cardiologist. The cardiologist tells him that the solution is a surgical intervention, however, he does not consider it a pressing thing, and he says that they can schedule it for the month of January.
Antonio remains in the clinic to undergo some of the exams necessary for the intervention. One of these tests is the one that reveals a fissure in the aorta artery. He is immediately admitted for an emergency operation.
The fissure is an aortic dissection caused by a syndrome called Marfan.
Before the operation the doctor approached me to tell me how complex the procedure was, to explain the risks and the possibilities that existed that even if the operation was successful, my husband could lose his life.
Antonio suffered 70% damage to the aorta, which had to be replaced by a tube, and one of its valves had to be replaced by a mechanical one.
The operation was a success. That was the first big test and we passed! Now we face 4 crucial weeks of recovery.
I am afraid, afraid of losing him. I am afraid that our daughter Amaia, almost three years old, will not have him anymore and will not be able to enjoy all the love and energy that he has always transmitted to us. I am afraid that the injury is in another artery due to his illness and that it may collapse at another time. I am afraid that something would happen to him if he worries about economic problems. I do not want him to know that the insurance did NOT cover the budget completely, or the tube that was placed.
I have no way to cover the expenses. I need your help; any contribution is immense and deeply appreciated. The money I collect will help me pay off the debt that resulted from the procedure.
