A mass in my breast was diagnosed on August 27th as Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, that has spread to my lymph nodes. At this point, we do not know what stage the cancer is and will not until all of my test results are back. I am currently in the midst of multiple tests, scanning my body to determine if the cancer has spread anywhere else. We know that it is a gnarly, mean and resistant type of cancer...aggressive and fast growing.
I have a port placed and will start chemo on September 17th. Treatment will be every other Monday for the following 8 weeks (so 4 total infusions). Then, I will begin a new cocktail of chemo that will be every week for 12 weeks. I will lose my hair 17 days after my first treatment. After my last chemo treatment, depending on results, we will travel down the path of the next possible options.. surgery, mastectomy, radiation???
I have the best team of doctors at Cancer Care Northwest. My surgeon is Dr. Moline, and my oncologist is Dr. Thumma.
Joe is home and my sister is also in town. I am blessed by an amazing family and I am surrounded by loving and caring friends! I am ready to kick cancer's ass! P.S...I've got cancer fighting Ninja skills!!!
