The Cinder Block Comedy Festival is a group of women in NYC who are stand up comedians, storytellers, improvisers, podcasters, comedy writers, bookers and artists.
Our goal is to highlight the diverse talents currently in the comedy industry. From household names to up and comers, we promise that anyone can look at our lineup and see someone they can relate to, someone that inspires them to speak up and have their voices heard.
We think you deserve a diverse comedy festival because having a token LGBTQ, person of color or a woman in a sea of white bearded dudes is NOT diversity.
The money we raise will go to the following:
Promotional materials:
badges, posters, banners, zines, programs, T shirts,
hiring a designer for the web app,
website creation, maintenance, and hosting
Booking the best venues
Booking nationally known headliners: hotels, plane tickets
Paying our crew for their hard work (It takes a village!)
...Basically, there's a lot that needs to be paid for!
Women, LGBT and people of color are able to take part in the month long Early Bird submissions from February 15- March 14th 2016 for a discounted rate of $19.25 (77 cents on the dollar for the regular $25 rate)
Submissions are open for everyone from March 15th-April 15th 2016 at $25.
We are excited to bring you the brightest talents from all over the world to NYC!
