Hello to all of our Family, Friends, Prayer Warriors and Well Wishers! Chris underwent brain surgery (craniotomy) this past Friday at Brigham and Womans Hospital in Boston to remove a large tumor that was located in his left temporal frontal lobe. The surgery was successful and the Neurosurgeon was able to remove the majority of the tumor which they have classified as a glioma. We are still waiting for the pathology report to come back which will tell us what classification of glioma the tumor is and what will be the next step regarding treatment. But, for now we impatiently wait until November 6th. Chris’ recovery is going very well however, he is suffering with some significant cognitive issues mostly involving word retrieval, confusion, and he is unable answer basic questions appropriately. These issues, we are told, will continue to improve as the swelling decreases but, as for now he will require 24 hour care for an extended amount of time. Chris has a supportive family and many friends who will help fill this time. Anyone who knows Chris knows that his sense of humor is his greatest gift second to his charming smile! He keeps telling the nurses he wants to “go out for a run” and that he is “completely fine” and can drive himself home. Chris has also been posting selfies telling the world how gorgeous he is, and attributes his injury and need for staples to have had a run in with a honey badger! He won! Hence the need for twenty-four hour care! We are reaching out to our friends and family to ask for support to help keep this recovery train moving forward as there are so so many moving parts to implementing the proper care plan. His twin eight year old daughters, Shelby and Leah are also priority number one! Keeping Chris at home provides stability for their family unit. We continue to ask for prayer first and foremost and thank you so very much for your generosity and support! Much love and gratitude , The Family of Chris Eldredge
