Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center (TEL HI), a nonprofit in San Francisco, is honored to be able to serve one of our countries most underserved populations, our seniors. Even though our Senior Program is UNFUNDED we are able to serve approximately 100 adults and seniors a day through an array of activities including bingo, yoga and fitness classes, a meal program, computer classes, Tai Chi classes, Line Dance classes, and special activities and workshops! For many, TEL HI is a second home, and the only place they go every day to socialize and connect with the community around them. This network is crucial for our older population.
While we work hard every day to make the biggest possible difference in the lives of the seniors we serve, with limited funds and staffing available we know we can do better. This is why we are asking for YOUR HELP! We want to enhance our program activities and provide gifts to our senior program participants that would add value to their lives. They have come up with a “Wish List” and with your help we are hoping that we can raise enough money to purchase all the items on their list (see below for wish list)!
Your donation will go a long way in providing items for bingo prizes, updating our yoga equipment, purchasing art supplies and more! After the items are purchased we will then disperse them as gifts at holiday parties and as bingo prizes from the end of September to December, bringing “Christmas” to our Senior Program participants all through the holidays! Please donate to our campaign, just a few dollars will help purchase an item on their list and make a difference in the lives of our senior population!
