Christmas Tree for Lady w/Cancer

My roommate and dear friend, Karen, is a delightful 62 year old woman with a heart of gold. She would bend over backwards to help anyone, any time. She is one of the hardest workers I've ever known and proves it every day as she suits up to go to work and give it her all. No job is too big or to small and she takes on the world with gusto.
In 2006 she was diagonosed with a rare form of blood cancer and underwent constant chemo to stop the spread. Thank goodness the chemo proved successful and she pulled through like a champ. She never let it get her down and went out of her way to brighten everyone else's day so they wouldn't worry about her. Before her recovery was complete she returned to work because her duty to herself and her committment to her job meant more to her than anything in the world.
Tragically, just recently she was diagonosed with stomach and bladder cancer. She is once again undergoing life-saving chemo. Her doctors believe that with constant treatment she will be in remission in a year's time. Unfortunately she has not financially recovered from the first bout of illness. Because of that, she is unable to take any time off work save for the days she's at the doctor for radiation. She takes the bus (it takes her an hour and a half each way) to work 30 hours a week in between treatments.
I'm doing my best to take care of her. I've altered my schedule to work around her treatment and make sure that she has all the comforts I can provide. But her one dream in the world is for a Christmas tree and I simply don't have the budget to provide one for her. I would love for her to be able to take at least a few weeks off work so she can focus on recovery but our budgets won't allow for that either.
Neither of us has any family; we're all each other has. She's like a mom to me and her struggle breaks my heart. If there's any chance you can give just a little to make a sweet little lady's dream of a warm and bright Christmas come true, it would mean the world to both of us.
Funds would go to a real tree, watering base, some decorations and maybe a little tree skirt.
