In March 2016 Gary and I moved to Florida from South Africa in search of a better life. However, for Gary that meant leaving his 9-year-old son Thomas behind (he lives with his mom in South Africa). This separation is incredibly hard on Gary. Although they have video chats every week, it's not really a substitute for spending time together.
We're setting up this Go Fund Me to raise money for Tom to come spend Christmas in Florida with us and go to Disney World. Tom will be 10 years old in June, and he can only fly as an unaccompanied minor when he's 12.
Originally the plan was for Gary to fly to South Africa, pick up Tom, fly to Florida, and then, after the vacation, fly back to South Africa do drop off Tom and then back to Florida (three round-trip tickets). However, Gary's nephew Warwick has volunteered to chaperone Tom on the flight, so we now need to raise enough money to pay for two round-trip air tickets, not three.
