Christian’s Medical and after Hosptial Funds

Donation protected
Christian is a 12 year old 7th grader from Pontiac Michigan. He LOVES riding his bike around and visiting his friends.
On Monday January 7th, 2019 Christian Left home to head to his friends house on his brand new bike, just a block from home he was ran over by a white van that continued through the scene without looking back.
He was taken in to the hospital via ambulance and moved to a children’s hospital where an entire TEAM of doctors, nurses, and specialist wrapped around him to asses what was to come. The biggest problem and most time sensitive matter to face was his head trauma. Upon a CT the doctors saw that Christian had a subderal hematoma(fluid and blot clots between his brain and skull), he was rushed into emergency surgery to open his skull and release the pressure.
The good news his brain didn’t swell as much as they thought when opened! Yay right? His head lays with out all the pieces right now, and will for a couple weeks. He has two other fractures one in the front and one at the base of his skull in the back. When they do put it back together he will for the rest of his life have metal plates in his skull.
The positives; he is reacting to pain on his extremities (pinching and such), his pupils are sluggish but responsive, and he successfully made it through the first night.
Still awaiting for an orthopedic specialist to come and look at his leg that is nearly twice the size it normally is, and possible hip fracture and fractures to his pelvic area.

So why am I starting this so early you may ask....... we don’t know what will and won’t be covered, we are a struggling family to begin with and we KNOW he has weeks and months before it will be as simple as walking into the door at home.

As his Aunt I will be ensuring that the money raised and taken from this campaign will help cover trips to and from doctors once home, any medical that is not covered, and help keep him comfortable once home with things that are beyond what medical can do. I will be in charge of spending his money, and with his mothers and our family assistance we will decide as a family what he requires beyond the medical items.

We dont know what is to come, if he’ll walk, if he’ll ride his bike, if he’ll go right back to school, we know very little except for that he’s strong he’s fighting and we are going to need help to help him.

Every dollar and every penny helps make a difference. If we reach a goal great! If we don’t thats still amazing for the help and if we pass our goal he will need all the extra help he can get. And is beyond appreciated.

As we are updated with information, you will be updated too.
