Chrissy's "Kick Radiation’s Glowing Ass!" Fund

Donation protected
After all she's been through in the past (see the post below), our Chrissy is dealing with yet another health crisis.  This time, they found 3 small masses on her brain that have come together as one larger mass.  The masses are causing her to lose her vision and her hearing in her left ear.  She will need several surgeries, including brain surgery to remove the masses, and surgery to repair the damage that the pressure of the tumors has caused to her eye.

While we are having a Stella & Dot fundraiser (jewelry) on Facebook  so that she can earn commissions and  continue to feel like she's contributing to her own life and supporting herself.  She will be unable to work for some time and will need help financially.  Her job does not provide any benefits such as disability so she will be without pay for quite some time.  This on the heels of just really getting her life back.

If you're not familiar with her challenges in the past, I'm leaving the fundraiser below so that you can read about what she went through 2 short years ago.  We as a family have been through so much and we're fighting this time too!

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.  She is such a loving and giving person.  She raised over $3,500 this past August at her 40th birthday party for the Crohns and Colitis Foundation as a way to give back and to support that organization that is doing research for the millions of people suffering from those conditions, including Chrissy and several other people she loves.

If you have any questions or wish to talk to me, please find me on Facebook or if you already know me, give me a call or text.

Thank you so much from our entire family,
Love,
Judy

FROM 2015/2016:
My daughter is very ill and needs some help.  She hasn't made a big deal out of it but she has dealing with Ulcerative Colitis for several years now.  It has progressed at an alarming rate to the point where surgical intervention is the only option and potentially - a cure!   She has finally found a great doctor at HUP who has said he will make her well.

Making her well involves removing her entire colon to remove all of the diseased sections. This involves 3 separate surgeries over the course of 6 months, an ostomy and a rough road of recovery each time.

She has been dealing with incredible pain and if you know anything about UC, you know all of the horrible symptoms of this bowel disease but also what effect the medicines take on a body.  She has lost 35 pounds in a few months because she can't keep things down, or the opposite, her body keeps things in and her colon gets infected and she bloats.

Through all of this she has tried to stay strong!  She has made sure she attended the family birthday parties, sending care packages to her baby brother, Christopher, who is deployed till 2016, supporting her sister-in-law in any way she can with the nephews and niece.

She raises funds for so many worthwhile causes because she believes in helping find a cure for those diseases that affect and have affected those she loves - Liver foundation donations in honor of her cousin Olivia; Diabetes in honor of her grandmother Ellen Gipson; Asthma, in honor of her mother(humbly, me); UC, herself and several siblings; Crohn's, 'Amber Tyson, and so many people I can't name; Cancer, her grandmother and so many others; Multiple Sclerosis, her wonderful uncle Joseph Gipson;  Heart Association in honor of her grandfathers and father,;and so many others I can't count.  She has raised tens of thousands of dollars in the past 10 years for so many organizations.

Now, she needs people to help her.  She would never ask for this herself.  I think she'd sooner scream at the sky by herself than ask for help.  So I'm asking for her.

She is now at the point of exhausting her short-term disability benefits, and has been paying her own health insurance premiums since her company has stopped doing so because she's on disability.   As of November 26, she will no longer have any disability, and yet she'll still have to pay for her health insurance premiums, in order to get the next 2 required surgeries.  She has exhausted her savings with her medical bills, medications and living expenses.

I believe that $5,000 is a good goal, a decent goal, that will help her pay for her health insurance, her medications, ostomy supplies, costs of living and the costs of getting well for the next six months.

This beautiful young woman has been through so much and hasn't asked for anything but gives to everyone. Anything you can give would be appreciated.

Let's help her get back on her feet so she can start giving back again, which is what she does best.

Thank you,
Judy
