Support Chris' Training in Belgium
$3,494 of $6,000 goal
In 2013, I discovered my talent and passion for shoe patina (restoration). I find it rewarding in rescuing well-worn shoes because it gives me a chance to breathe new life into them. I can bring them back to their former condition, or give them a completely different spin with my creative vision. It has turned into an artistic outlet that brings personal fulfillment and satisfaction and has become a great professional venture as well.
I find myself in a place where my self-taught skill set finally needs professional guidance, so I began submitting my portfolio to apprenticeships. I am elated and humbled to say that I’ve been accepted to train under Landry Lacour, considered the world’s top patina artist, in Brussels this coming Spring. Completion of my training will lead me to be certified as a Bespoke Patina Artist. This will be his last year of training and teaching, so this is the only opportunity I have before he retires. The money needed is before the end of March.
This crowd funding is to make up the difference of what I financially have to get me there. It will help cover the cost of the course, travel, and accommodations; it is well worth it and a chance of a lifetime. The expertise of Landry will advance my skills for years to come as I pursue my dream.
