Chris' Spartan World Championship

Dear friends and family,

I am excited to announce that I have qualified to compete in the 2018 Spartan World Championship, in Reykjavik Iceland this December. Yes, you read that right - an obstacle race in December, in Iceland... Did I mention the race is 24 hours?

Now before you write me off as crazy, which I completely understand… And sometimes put myself on that list, hear me out.

I'm an athlete. I love to compete. Everything I try I put my heart and soul into, so that I can reach my highest potential.

Recently I have been able to put my competitiveness to the test in the form of obstacle course racing. In April I took part in one of the hardest races I have ever done, the Spartan Beast Ultra. This race was 31 miles long with over 60+ obstacles. This was my first extra-long distance race, it took me 9:54.09. By completing the race in such a time I have qualified for the 2018 Spartan World Championship.

The World Championship is as many miles as you can, in 24 hours, non-stop. This is definitely a once in a lifetime experience and I look forward to it every day.

Being part of the race gives me the opportunity to compete against some of the best in the world. It is a select group of athletes who have proven they are worthy of this grueling course, and I am honored to have qualified to be a part of this group.

The expenses for this race do not come cheap, so I am asking for some help. I have estimated the funds for the trip to be +$6,000. In hopes of offsetting some of the cost of the race itself, I am looking to raise $3,000 which will go towards the following:

$750 - Race Fee

$600 - Airfare

$1,000 - Gear

$500 - Accommodation/Transportation

$150 - Food
