Chris Gaughran - Stroke Victim and Football Scout

Chris Gaughran is a very talented Football Scout and life long Villa fan.
Chris is known on the football scouting circuit around the UK and Europe and his enthusiasm and player knowledge is infectious. He is a member of the Professional Football Scouts Association. This is where myself and many others were introduced to him.
Sadly on New Years Day Chris suffered a stroke. He has currently lost the use of the left side of his body and the sight in his left eye. He can only move his wrist and leg with a twitch.
Chris will sadly remain in hospital for some months while they try to aid his recovery.
He was just about to start a new job and sadly this means Chris didn’t have any statutory cover for being off work, so this is an added stress to himself and his family.
The football world needs people like Chris back in it, and as fellow scouts, we would love to help support him in his long route to recovery.
Could we call across the footballing network and help to support Chris and his family through this difficult time, and give Chris something really positive to help him focus on the his recovery, or support any devices or household items Chris may need to help him with his daily struggle to retain independence and strength again.
We all sincerely hope Chris can come through this with some quality of life ahead, and he can continue with his talent and be one with us all again.
