Chris' Enzyme Replacement Fund
Donation protected
This campaign is set up to help my fiance Chris. Chris is 44 years old, a loving father to 2 beautiful children; an 18 year old daughter and a 6 month old baby boy. Chris is a lover of the outdoors but due to his illness these joys have been stripped from him, causing him to not only discontinue his hobbies but also his lively Hood, which he was and still is to best his ability a very hard worker.
Chris has been battling COPD for over 10 years, recently he has discovered through further testing he only has 23% of his lung capacity due to a genetic factor called Alpha 1 Anti Trypsin Deficiency, a protein in the blood. The omission of this protein causes the white blood cells to attack the lungs and lead to lung failure. This deficiency can be treated by introducing the enzyme back to the blood, this would stop further deterioration of his lungs and can then be placed on a lung transplant list. The treatments are very costly and not covered by his insurance and no help from the government. The cost for his treatments is $50,000. These treatments would help Chris return to a somewhat normal lifestyle with his family and have the chance to do all the things dad's get to do with their sons as they grow up.
Any amount is greatly appreciated and would be going to a great cause. Thank you for your kindness.
