The Davey Family is needs your help. As many of you know, Chris Davey has been battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma over the last few months. Back in mid-August, he was admitted to the ICU at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore with what started out as kidney and liver issues. He got an infection that went out-of-control. In addition to the infection he developed Acquired Secondary HLH. Basically, his cells went crazy and started attacking his organs, and eating away at his bone marrow.
In true Chris fashion, he wanted to make a real splash and so the last few weeks have been full of seizures, flat-lining, dialysis, and every other scary event under the sun. He likes to keep things exciting and keep his family and friends on the edge of their seats.
During this time, his wife Emily hasn't left his side. It has been quite a roller coaster and she has remained a rock. She had to take a leave of absence from work and move into an apartment across the street from the hospital to be close by so that Chris could receive the best care in the tri-state area (they live about 1.5 hours away from the hospital). Chris is also on medical leave from his post in the U.S. Coast Guard.
As you can imagine there are A LOT of expenses that accumulate during times such as these and so we would love to be able to help this awesome family out with offsetting those costs. Thankfully the Coast Guard is covering the majority of medical expenses but with both Chris and Emily out of work, there are everyday expenses that pile up.
Both Chris and Emily are 100% against asking for help and so I am sure I will get in trouble for creating this site (LOL) but they are always the first people to jump in and help others. Anything you can contribute, great or small, will go a long way. Any funds collected will to the Davey family to help offset all of the costs for living and traveling and remove an unnecessary burden from their already full plate of worries.
