I am one of the many people whose lives have been touched by Chloe Grace.  Chloe will be 6 years old in April and has such a positive outlook in life, which is amazing considering all of the obstacles this little girl has faced and overcome since birth.  If you are not familiar with Chloe, you may go to http://www.steps-together.org/chloe to learn about her and everything she has been through in less than 6 years of life.  It's more than any person, let alone a child should have to endure and now she is fighting another battle.  Her family needs our help.

On Wednesday, March 2nd, her family rushed her to the hospital because she had a fast spreading infection along her shunt pathway in addition to a possible infection of her spinal fluid.  This resulted in her needing immediate surgery to remove the shunt from her body.  The shunt’s function is to draw fluid away from the brain to prevent her from suffering from seizures & neurological damage and had to be removed to prevent an infection to her brain.  The surgery went as well as could be expected and she now has an external shunt at this time.  Her spinal fluid has to be tested and come back clear three times before they can place a new shunt in, but this time it will have to be on the other side of her body, since they are still unsure as to the cause of the infection.  This means that Chloe will have to once again undergo another brain surgery (and subsequent recovery) to place in the new shunt.  Please continue to pray for Chloe Grace. Her family is currently waiting for the third spinal fluid sample to come back and if it is negative, like the others for infection, she will be scheduled for brain surgery to place in the new shunt on Wednesday.

Chloe's family owns their own trucking business, with her Dad as the one and only driver, which means he is frequently on the road to help make ends meet.  At this time, he is by Chloe's bedside night and day as any Dad would be and therefore not earning an income.  They also have to purchase their own health insurance and are currently incurring hospital copays of $500 daily in addition to out of network costs, which are undetermined at this time.  Their insurance also does not cover all of the current and future therapies Chloe will need.

They need our help!  If you could find it in your hearts to make donations to help with Chloe's medical costs and their living expenses, I know they would be extremely appreciative.  Her parents are two of the kindest people you could meet and are the type to always lend a helping hand to those around them without asking for anything in return.

Please, all I am asking is if we could all step up and help them now in their time of need.  Every little bit helps! All donations will be sent directly to Rosalia and Alex via Go Fund Me.

Thank you so much in advance for supporting this bright, determined and outgoing little girl and her family.  Her family can truly feel the prayers being sent their way and know that they are being heard and answered.
