Chloe Booker's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Chloe Booker was diagnosed with cancer on June 1st, 2017, a day most kids associate with summertime and pools, "schools out" and playing- Chloe's family now associates with devastating news, hospitals, having to find the words to explain to a child why she can't play like the other kids, at least for a while.

This is Chloe Booker, a happy, sassy and giggly 4-yr-old little girl who loves the colors pink and purple, Disney Jr., Nick Jr., Play Doh, Shopkins and, of course, playing at the park with her two older brothers, Maurice, 14, and Cory Jr., 10. With summer upon us, she was looking forward to taking advantage of every opportunity to play with them, but she isn't going to have that opportunity for quite some time.

Chloe began suffering from severe leg pain, so much so she could barely stand to put weight on it. Being the attentive mother she is, Mia rushed Chloe in to the hospital. Unfortunately, her hopes for a simple diagnosis were shattered. Just over a week ago, Chloe was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a disease in which malignant cancer cells form in immature nerve tissue. In Chloe's case, they formed on her spinal cord.

We are all grateful for Mia's quick thinking in getting Chloe to the hospital and for the doctors' diagnosis. Now comes the hardest part: Chloe has already begun treatment, but you can imagine the emotional toll this has taken on her entire family. Her two brothers, Maurice and Cory Jr., are used to being her protectors and this has been especially devastating to them.

To make matters worse, Mia received word from her work that she will not be receiving FMLA while she is off taking care of Chloe and picked up her last paycheck on June ninth. If you are a parent, you can understand the need to be next to your baby while she undergoes such rigorous treatment. Chloe needs her mother by her side through this. Not only is there chemotherapy, but extensive physical therapy to hopefully help her walk and move with ease again.  It was announced recently that the chemotherapy Chloe has already undergone has  deeply affected her hearing meaning Mia will need to purchase hearing aids for Chloe in the near future.   Just today (October 10th), Chloe underwent surgery to remove as much of the tumors as could possibly be removed.  Although the surgery is promising, this is yet another financial burden on this single mother of three. These continued costs will mount the longer Mia is out of work, but there is no place Mia should be but next to Chloe's side for the fight of her life.

Please give if you can. If you can't, please pray for Chloe and her family. Please share her story. We appreciate all of your support. This isn't going to be easy, but little Chloe is a fighter. She is #CHLOESTRONG.
