Doctorate of Chiropractic Tuition

Hello Kind People,

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. My name is Holly Buls. I just finished my bachelors degree at York University and I am attending Chiropractic College in the fall. I finally found the path that best suites my personal philosophy about health and wellness and natural healing.

I started my career journey with kinesiology at a young age before finally choosing a college program. After getting my diploma in 2014 I realized that I had a thirst for knowledge and I wanted to get my bachelors so I could take a graduate program. . My home town had less than 100 people, so moving from a small town to the big city of Toronto was a huge transition for me. Coming from a single income family of six, it was definitely hard to pay my way through University and live in Toronto.  However the hardships did teach me to overcome my fears, to work hard, to stay committed to my education, to ask for help when needed, and to be strong when faced with hard times. Now that I have finished my degree and been accepted into the Doctorate of Chiropractic program at New York Chiropractic College. I am faced with a whole new level of obstacles. Despite the challenges I know that this is the field of practice I am suppose to be in and I desperately want to achieve all that I can in my education so that I may give back and help people maximize their health and wellness.

Moving to the U.S. for graduate school will be a huge change.  I have never left the province let alone the country. Moving will be the first time I get on a plane, travel out of the Canada, live on my own, all while learning a higher level of education. That being said I am beyond excited.
Expenses will include
Tuition : $23,884
Technology & Activity fees: $680
Books and supplies: $1500
Housing $8240
Personal Allowance $1342
Transportation: $2000

My goal will be to raise $35,000 for my first year of Chiropractic school by September 2018. I know this is a large amount but every little bit helps! I am hoping and praying that I can ease the transition to a new city, and country without financial stressors. I know that with financial support I can focus on my academics and involvement on campus. During my stay in Toronto I have been fortunate enough to work for Harbourfront Chiropractic with Dr. Suzanne Bober as an Exam Tech. I have learned a lot at Harbourfront Chiropractic including; patient flow in a clinic, communicating with all different personalities types, taking patient history, conducting initial examinations, financial and administrative responsibilities, and ultimately the importance of  spinal health and optimal alignment.  At Harbourfront Chiropractic Dr. Bober specializes in Activator technique. NYCC has a speciality club for activator technique which I am very excited to become a part of!

I will personally show my gratitude by donating excess funds to local food banks. As this is something that I have relied on throughout my post secondary education and really helped me through the past three years. I will also donate funds to extracurricular clubs like Activator club, as I have seen this technique work and would love to support this with the students at NYCC.
