Chi-Nations Youth Council

Donation protected
Chi-Nations Youth Council is a group of Native youth with a mission to create safe space for native youth, we raise money for inner city Native youth advocay  social and environmental justice. For the past 5 years we have been organizing rallies and protests in Chicago and traveling to social and environmental protests across the nation. We educate people of our community and the people of Chicago about the Native people and land of Chicago. In 2018 we were able to travel across the country and visit multiple reservations such as the Navajo Nation the Tohono O’otham Nation and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. We were able to take the youth to the Redwood forest and to the largest Native Youth gathering in the world. We advocate for proper representation of Native peoples of Chicago and recently got the City of Chicago to acknowledge Chicago as Native Land through a resolution and were also able to secure a piece of land on the Northside of Chicago to begin to grow our own ancestral food and medicine and connect with our culture through ceremonies we would host at our First Nations Garden to heal ourselves and community, the First Nations Garden will also serve as a space to teach non-Native peoples about Native foods and practices.
