Robert C. Harper's "Burn Recovery"

Greetings, Christian Friends:
              I hope this letter finds you in good health and with a cheerful spirit. Perhaps many of you know that our dad, Robert C. Harper, was critically injured on April 10 of this year. For those of you who haven’t heard, I’d like to take this opportunity and share with you just how an ordinary day has forever changed his life.

              He was working around the house, as he usually does, fixing a lawnmower. If you know our dad, Robert C. Harper, you also know that he takes splendid pleasure and pride in fixing things. Somehow, the lawnmower sparked a fire. Massive flames ignited and scattered fire over 40% of his body leaving him with 3rd degree burns. He was transported by life-flight to Vanderbilt Hospital and has been, and still remains, in ICU.

              Despite multiple life threatening surgeries, he is clinging to his hope in CHRIST JESUS and is grateful to be alive. Though day-to-day struggles are weighing heavily on his weak, feeble body, his faith stands strong in the LORD. He remains in persistent pain and agony. Doctors do not know when he will be moving from ICU. Currently, his wound care occurs daily and is a traumatic painful process.

              We are exceedingly grateful for the prayers, visits and phone calls received during this tragic time in our lives. The doctors told us that the visits are important to his recovery. Each of us has traveled back-and-forth to Nashville daily to be with our dad. One son  has to make travel arrangements from Virginia.

              The travel, lodge, food, hospital bills, etc., have extended unexpected hardship on us. Therefore, we are asking for your help monetarily.  Anything that you can and will extend will be greatly accepted and appreciated. The funds will be used solely to assist us with the necessary traveling expenses. Our family has Never had to ask for assistance of any kind and find it extremely hard to do so now. However, his bills are mounting, and we are having to rob Peter to pay Paul, literally. 

              It is with great hopes that his tragedy can save someone else from repeating this traumatic accident. We solicit your prayer as you go throughout your busy days. Please remember to place his name on your prayer list within your churches. Again, anything you can do to assist us will be greatly appreciated.
