Childrens Cancer & Haematology Ward

Donation protected
Local Care Force is very proud to be raising money for Leeds' Children’s Cancer & Haematology Ward. We are asking for £5 donations.

The Ward treats patients from birth to 12 years - treating children for a variety of cancers and serious blood disorders.

Depending on diagnosis children's journeys can vary but they can stay on the ward for days, weeks and even months at a time.

Some children, and all transplant patients, will spend large amounts of time in isolation due to infections or having to be in protective isolation. Treatment can last for years - with years of long-term follow-ups.

Play is an important part of the children's ward. The role of the play team is to use play as a tool to support children through their hospital journey. Play creates an environment where stress and anxiety are reduced and provides some normality.

Our aim is to raise £1,200 to buy a new TV for the patient's treatment room, lots of sensory equipment, therapeutic toys, DVDs, communal toys for the play room & personal presents for each child on the ward.

Associate Partner at Local Care Force, Adam Silverwood, decided to start this fundraising initiative after hearing about his friend’s son who received treatment on the ward.

We will randomly select one donator to recieve an amazing hamper at the end of the campaign... The hamper includes lots of delicious treats and an iPad!

We hope you can make this small donation. It will make a massive difference to some very worthy children and their families.
