Tech for Kids- A Media Centre Drive

OUR COMMITMENT TO BETTERING CHILDREN'S LIVES
Children We Serve under The Away Inward Foundation has for over five years been committed to enhancing education and creating opportunities for children in developing countries through building schools. In 2015, driven by the need to help after the catastrophic earthquake in Nepal, The Away Inward Foundation provided emergency relief items and eventually embarked on rebuilding schools that had been destroyed. With the support of a local NGO, The Gorkha Foundation and volunteers from all over the world, we have since rebuilt 16 schools and put over 5000 children out of unsafe and temporary learning facilities. We are now diversifying our work by embarking on technology as a tool to enhance learning experiences in developing countries. In a world that is increasingly dependent on technology, it is crucial to raise children of the future. Enabling access to technology for children who would otherwise not have it would increase their chances of having more successful, competitive, and fuller learning experiences. Driven by this realization, we are building our first media center for children in Uganda!

HELP US BUILD OUR FIRST CHILDREN'S MEDIA CENTER
We are partnering with a Ugandan based organization which advances learning experiences through sports and we have finalized the location and blueprints to create a centralized "Media Centre" in the western district of Kabarole in Uganda. Our partner organization highlighted the benefits of embarking on this project and the value it would add to the children and the community. Our pioneer project will see the construction of the first ever media center, which will house up to 20 computers capable of catering to up to 200 children weekly. Computer literacy training will be provided to the teachers to enable the success and continuity of the project. Our goal is to build as many centers as we possibly can in the future to reach as many children and communities.
This media center will be accessible to as many as 10 schools with each school accessing the center at least once a week. We are hoping you can help to bring this dream to life by donating to this cause and also visiting our website to learn more about what our organization is doing.
