Last year a group of us travelled to Gambia
During our stay in The Gambia we were privileged enough to meet an amazing young boy who’s story really weighed heavy upon us.
This 10 year old boy had lost both his parents, a baby sister of 3months and his younger brother. As an orphan he now lives with his auntie and her husband, with little income and little food to go around at home this young boy walks 3hours from his compound to the local beach in hope to find food.
We were presented with an amazing opportunity to help this young boy by putting him through all 8 grades of education, which to us was a small contribution that we knew would make a huge difference to the quality of his life and we deeply felt he needed this break.
With this young boys story we have to think how many other children would benefit from such opportunity. With this in mind we now feel compelled to return and help others in a similar position.
During our stay we learned that it costs approximately £100 to send a child to school for an academic year. This includes; tuition, uniform, books and stationary.
Our aim this year is to help a further 20 children attend school so we have launched this campaign.
We feel privileged to be able to help those far less fortunate than ourselves and our hope is you will be able to contribute to our end goal.
