Chief Benotti Heart Surgery
Donation protected
On a beautiful April 29, 2010, Chief Benotti was born. He was Chief before his Daddy became the Chief for the City of Sanford in Maine. When he was rescued at eleven months old from a high kill shelter in Georgia, he came with his heroic name! Chief is a Certified Therapy K9. He was certified five years ago through Pet Partners, a National Therapy Animal Non Profit. Chief is certified to the highest level which allows him to work in complex environments. He makes visits to firehouses, schools, Alzheimer's Units, nursing homes, hospitals, behavioral units, and home visits to name a few.
Now Chief is fighting Etopic Thyroid Cancer in his heart. This is a very rare Cancer that he was born with and very rarely forms in the heart. He has already undergone radiation and chemotherapy to try to shrink it but now requires surgical intervention. Chief is scheduled for surgery on January 9, 2017 in Colorado where the doctors will remove his Etopic Thyroid Tumor from his heart. It has an 80% survival rate. The monies raised through here will help cover the fees for this necessary heart surgery and follow-up care.
Any donations above the monies needed for the surgery and follow-up care will be donated to further assist other animals.
