My name is Chiara McDermott and I am a 23 year old student studying for a Neuroscience BA at Magdalen College, Oxford University.
After several years of competing internationally on the GB team, I have been fortunate enough to have been selected to represent England as part of the 2018 Commonwealth Fencing Team.
This event will be held in Canberra, Australia and I have set up this GoFundMe campaign to try and raise a target of £1,500 so that I can afford to pay for the flights, accommodation and all other costs associated with travelling halfway round the world.
I have been able to achieve this qualification thanks to the support of my parents, university, coaches and clubs who have been so generous with their time and support and I continue to be so grateful for all those who have helped me on this journey.
