me replacing my stolen ski gear?

Donation protected
Since having my gear stolen after skiing Andrews Glacier (photo above by David Morse on another day at Andrews) in Rocky Mountain National Park on Saturday, I have received so much overwhelming love for which I am already very grateful. But I still need to replace a friend's gear as well as my own. Many of my friends advised me to start a gofundme to collect donations. I don't plan on paying retail for the full replacement value of what I lost, which would be over $5000. But it's still a lot of money to be able to ski.

So here is what I want to do. I'm setting a goal of $4000 with no expectation that I will get or spend that much. And any excess over what I need to get back on the mountain I will donate in equal parts to the Friends of Berthoud Pass, a grassroots organization that provides free avalanche education across Colorado and Friends of the CAIC, a similar organization that provides grassroots support for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.

If you have ever asked a friend to mount bindings or do other work on your skis or learned how to backcountry ski safely from a mentor, please consider helping me replace my gear and support the avalanche awareness in Colorado.

Thank you!
