Chess Supplies to Equatorial Guinea

For a school project, we investigated chess federations in several Spanish-speaking countries, including Equatorial Guinea—the only one in Africa. We were put in touch with the enthusiasts there—no federation exists in EG—and immediately this connection took on a great signficance.
The chess players in Equatorial Guinea number two dozen, none officially ranked. The first "semi-official" tournament in the history of the capital, Malabo, was held in recent weeks.
Activists, teachers, and students are looking to establish both scholastic and general competitive chess in EG with our help. They cannot do so without supplies. Please make a donation toward the purchase of chess sets, clocks, and books for the burgeoning chess community of EG.
In the words of one local activist:
"If we use the chess outreach project to offer one chess set per school in Malabo this year for example, I'll let you imagine the opportunity and potential for the following years..."
One thousand dollars will suffice for:
150 chess sets
50 clocks
25 books
